We are delighted to announce that in 2009 we reached our goal of having more than 50% of our attendees bike to the festival.
Minneapolis bikers met at the HUB Bike COOP, 3020 Minnehaha Ave South, at 9:30 AM and departed at 10AM on Saturday the 15th. Peace Coffee's bio-diesel sag wagon was on hand to carry camping gear for registered riders.
St. Paul bikers met at the Sibley Bike Depot, 712 University Avenue St. Paul, at 10 AM and departed at approximately 10:30 AM when the Mpls bikers arrived. Summit was on hand to transport camping gear for St. Paul bikers.
Stillwater riders met at The Bikery, 904 4th St. Stillwater, at 11 AM and took a non-direct route to the festival grounds and arrived at 1PM when the festival gate opened.
Marine on St. Croix bikers were on their own!
On Sunday August 16th, both the Peace Coffee and Summit sag wagons departed between 9-9:30 AM. The sag wagon dropped off gear at the same departure point bikers left from on Saturday August 15th.
*In order to receive the 75% or 50% biker discount on your admission to the festival, you MUST register online, pay the $5 fee per biker ($10 from Stillwater/Marine), check in at your desiganted start point, and bike to the event. Bikers who arrive to the festival gate and have not pre-registered for the ride cannot be granted reduced admission.
If, after paying the biker registration, you decide to drive from Mpls/St. Paul to the event, just pay the remaining $15. You still receive the online admission of $20 since you pre-registered.
-You may register multiple riders. Just make sure you list all the names. Also, please state whether you will have gear for the Peace Coffee or Summit sag wagon in the "note" area of your Paypal payment."
After you've submitted your registry payment, you'll be signed up for the ride. We'll contact you before the event to confirm ride status and provide any last minute information.
-Volunteer ride stewards with basic bike repair supplies will accompany the riders.
-Enjoy the beautiful Gateway trail.
